CIRCA ‘99 RELEASES COMPILATION PACKED FULL OF HUGE TRACKS, MARKING THREE YEARS OF INCREDIBLE MUSIC…

In 2017 Thibaud Noyer aka Boston Bun launched his own imprint Circa ’99 to release his break-through track ‘Missing You’, earning a spot in the echelons of the French Touch 2.0. After releasing tracks on Ed Banger Records and a move to London, he felt ready and inspired to work on his own label, signing and releasing tracks from contemporaries, friends and promising producers from all corners of the world: Canadian Ryan Playground, London-based Flaurese, Irish Monaco and fellow Frenchmen Samaran, Boogie Vice, You Man, Jerge, David Spinelli and DEVOTED

The common thread of the Circa ’99 signings? Hedonism boosting dancefloor fillers. Releases on the label have received support from the likes of Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Diplo, Mark Ronson, The Blessed Madonna, Busy P, Cassius, TEED, A-Trak, Joris Voorn, Martin Solveig, Anna Lunoe, Mercer among many others.

Boston Bun’s music and visuals boast a positive and nostalgic vibe, flirting with disco and nineties aesthetics, something he successfully pulled across to Circa ’99. The label’s creative direction that grew organically throughout the years, is something fans fell in love with. The merch designs were initially created to send to friends but after making them available to the public due to popular demand, they have been selling out regularly. Circa ’99 is now flourishing, with thirteen releases under its belt.

Lauren Lavern – ‘I like that, I just keep going back to it. Flaurese, one to watch on BBC 6 Music!’

Mark Ronson – ‘Ever since Diplo played me ‘Missing You’, I’ve been a fan.’

Kungs – ‘My favourite drop? Paris Madness from Samaran! It always evokes an explosion on the dancefloor!’

Boston Bun – ‘’We were so focussed on the music that we never really took the time to put all the pieces together. This first compilation is a way to put all the pieces together, a way for us to show you – look, this is Circa ’99, this is who we are.’’

This compilation marks three years of incredible music at the label, featuring a long list of timeless tracks, a journey from Circa ‘99s inception to the present day. From the Boston Bun classics ‘Missing You’, ‘Better Together’ and the brand new ‘Whenever You’re Ready’, over party-starters ‘Enter The Rave’ (Boogie Vice), the retro meets modern electro collaboration ‘Everybody’ (You Man & Jerge), radio favourites ‘The Promise’ (David Spinelli) and ‘Sake Of Lust’ (Flaurese), Circa ’99 Vol.1 holds both underground house tunes and multi-million streaming crowd pleasers like ‘Paris Madness’ (Samaran). All presented on an immaculate double vinyl, with merchandise to come. The design is a collaboration between Circa ‘99 family – Flaurese, Boston Bun and the emerging Brighton based designer Tavan. The limited-edition white vinyl includes a booklet with the well-loved single artwork designs and is an opportunity for the listener to collect a piece of Circa ‘99 history. View here
