Introducing Mifarma, the artistic alter ego of Danielle Alma Ravitzki, whose sonic voyage is about to captivate global audiences with her highly anticipated English-language debut album. A bold and deeply introspective work, Mifarma marks the next chapter in an already impressive musical journey that began with her early forays into the Hebrew music scene. With a debut album released in 2013 and a sophomore follow-up in 2017, Mifarma—now based in New York—is poised to reveal her most vulnerable and authentic creation yet.
Born with a natural gift for singing, Mifarma’s musical journey began as a child, capturing the attention of her family and friends through impromptu performances and early recordings. Her first steps into the music industry were taken at just 14 years old, when she sought the help of a family friend to produce her debut album. Featuring lyrics from celebrated poets paired with melodies composed by various Israeli artists, this project marked the beginning of her professional career.
As Mifarma’s artistry matured, so did her writing. By the time of her second album, she had transitioned to penning her own lyrics, exploring themes that now form the very heart of Mifarma—themes of identity, vulnerability, self-reflection, and the uncharted waters of personal growth. These topics aren’t merely explored in passing; they are the core of this album, as Mifarma opens up about her deepest struggles, triumphs, and emotional journey.
The Mifarma album is nothing short of a masterful blend of raw emotion and nuanced lyricism. Themes like trauma, healing, and the intricate dance between self-love and relationships are explored throughout its eight tracks. Standout moments include the hauntingly evocative “I Left the Room Without My Hair,” which explores the painful yet cathartic process of shedding one’s former self, and “Fix Me Up,” a tender yet powerful examination of emotional repair and resilience. Each song takes listeners on a tour of Mifarma’s emotional landscape, encouraging them to reflect on their own experiences while guiding them through a deeply personal and universal musical experience.
With Mifarma set to make its debut later this year, this groundbreaking album is poised to resonate deeply with audiences. Mifarma’s willingness to embrace both the light and dark of the human experience ensures that her music will leave a lasting mark on the global alternative scene. As she prepares to take her place on the world stage, Mifarma invites listeners to join her on a journey of introspection, vulnerability, and self-discovery—offering a unique and unforgettable perspective on the complexities of life, love, and personal growth.

What inspired you to start making music, and how has your journey evolved so far?
I’ve been passionate about music my entire life, always singing and performing since I was a little girl. At around 16, I remember performing covers of my favorite band, Placebo, in front of friends and family. This passion eventually led me to approach a family friend, and together we began working on my debut album. When I moved to New York, I faced challenges in finding the right producer, but eventually, I connected with Earl Harvin, who introduced me to Carmen Rizzo. From there, everything fell into place. I also believe that certain life experiences and traumas, which ultimately led me to New York, contributed to my musical sound becoming much darker compared to my first two albums.
How would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?
I would describe my music as alternative with a touch of electronics. However, since I don’t compose my own music, it allows my sound to be more eclectic, giving me the freedom to explore a variety of sounds and genres. This eclecticism is something I naturally gravitate toward—I enjoy curating playlists that reflect a wide range of genres, and I love incorporating that same diversity into my artistic sound.
What’s the story behind your latest release, and what does it mean to you?
The story behind my latest release reflects my personal experience with sexual trauma, a moment when I felt like I left the room without my most defining trait—my hair. Despite the heaviness of the theme, the song ultimately conveys a message of hope and strength, symbolizing the possibility of healing and regrowing what was lost.
Who are your biggest musical influences, and how have they shaped your style?
My biggest influence has been Shara Nova, who has shaped my style both musically and personally. She’s featured in the background vocals of all the songs and even composed two tracks for me. Her spirit and contributions are deeply woven into the fabric of the album, and you can hear her influence throughout.
Can you walk us through your songwriting and creative process?
I have hundreds of lyrics I’ve written that are just waiting to be composed. Once I select the lyrics for an album, I collaborate with songwriters, entering a creative process where we negotiate, if needed, on how the music best complements the lyrics. This time around, I worked with such incredible musicians that I was immediately happy with their compositions from the start.
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced as an indie artist, and how have you overcome it?
I think the biggest challenge with this album has been dealing with vulnerable, difficult, and dark themes, and sharing them with the world. Working with others to compose the music brought new perspectives and meanings to the songs, making it easier for me to share them. Also, I feel much more comfortable expressing myself through Mifarma than under my own name.
How do you approach promoting your music and building a fanbase in today’s industry?
I’m fortunate to have a wonderful publicist, and I also promote my music through social media. As an academic and philosopher, my work in those fields complements my music career, with one aspect often promoting the other.
If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
I would love to collaborate with Brian Molko, the lead singer of my favorite band, Placebo. If he were still alive, I would have also loved the chance to work with David Bowie.
What’s been your most memorable performance or moment as an artist so far?
One of my most memorable moments was receiving my first song from Shara Nova. It was an absolute dream to work with her, and when I realized she not only composed a song for me, but did it to my own lyrics, I was literally dancing around my home with excitement!
What can fans expect from you in the near future, and where can they find your music?
You can expect a new single coming out soon, followed by an album in a few months. I’m also currently collecting songs for my second album in English, so there’s a lot to look forward to. My music is available on all streaming platforms.
