The DJ, producer, and curator showcases his production chops once again via the superb ‘Ready, Steady, Go / Tomorrow’ double A-side, further refining his rhythmic sensibility and eye for percussive detail.
Opener ‘Ready, Steady, Go’ collides slick hats, bongo hits, and rolling house grooves into a tight polyrhythmic framework, topped with hooky samples that weave seamlessly throughout the mix. On the digital flip, ‘Tomorrow’ launches straight into a hip-swinging, bongo-fueled workout, fusing playful vocal chops with sub-aquatic synth touches to round out an essential debut on the label.
