Accomplished DJ and producer Damion ‘Damo’ Houchen, a.k.a. Genix, has kept momentum high since the release of his debut album, ‘199X’, in 2021. Recent years have seen the Anjunabeats linchpin close Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge Amphitheatre, launch his club-oriented ‘Warehouse55’ EP series and event brand, and sell out two headline Warehouse 55 events in London and Los Angeles.

Genix’s last EP on Anjunabeats, ‘Warehouse55 (Volume 2)’, earned support from Sasha, John Digweed, Joris Voorn, Rebūke, Armin van Buuren and more. He followed that up last year with an extensive North American tour, as well as with remixes of Andrew Bayer & Vök’s ‘No Silence’ and OceanLab’s ‘Beautiful Together’.
Born in Ukraine, raised in Toronto, vocalist flowanastasia has been writing and recording music for over a decade. Growing up studying classical piano and singing in choirs, her vocals have graced releases on established labels like Critical, RAM, Shogun, Liquicity, MODUS, Viper and more. ‘Dependent On You’ is an exhilarating fusion of early-rave euphoria and Genix’s unmistakably modern approach to production, where flowanastasia’s vocals light up ravey synth stabs and vintage breakbeats.
At a time when the UK club scene is embracing the euphoric energy of 90s rave, their collaborative debut is a track perfectly suited for the here and now. Expect more music from Genix in the coming months.
