Returning to The Masonic Temple in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan, GRiZ announced today his seventh annual ‘GRiZMAS’ shows on December 10th, 11th, and 12th.
After last year’s digital only event, ‘GRIZMAS’ expands for the first year ever to include three back to back nights of live performances. GRiZMAS will welcome an array of opening talent including The Sponges and Kilamanzego on December 10th, Level Up and Mize on the 11th, and Jantsen and Veil on the 12th. In typical GRiZMAS fashion, fans can expect GRiZ to perform a unique set each night filled with unreleased material, standout classics, and unique live takes on tracks off his newly released Rainbow Brain LP.
A nod to the renaissance of bass music and dubstep’s golden age, ‘Rainbow Brain’ draws on GRiZ’s admiration of the genre’s torchbearers. It’s a project that feels radically authentic to his own path as an artist and portrays the experiences that have defined him as a positive force of good. The album was brought to life via ‘Rainbow Brain, The Movie’  via live performance, unlike any other from GRiZ before.
GRiZMAS has become a holiday staple for fans all over the US who travel to Detroit for back-to-back shows as well as ‘12 Days’ of charitable events with GRiZ himself. Since 2014, GRiZ’s ‘12 Days of GRiZMAS’ series has made an impactful difference across Detroit communities, raising over $200,000 in the last two years alone.
GRiZ fans and locals alike have come together to help fund music education, art programs and coding lessons across Detroit’s public schools. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit organization, Seven Mile. Alongside being honored by the city council with the “Spirit of Detroit” award, GRiZMAS has been praised by the likes of The Guardian who stated, “This accessible, utterly sincere community effort feels comforting, essential, even.”
Those who have been paying attention to other GRiZ show announcements post-lockdown will know that time is of the essence to secure tickets to ‘GRiZMAS’, with GRiZ: Space Camp at Hampton Coliseum, GRiZ Presents Another World at 1st Bank Center, and a headline show at Red Rocks selling out within a few hours of public on sale signaling a pent up demand for one of electronic’s most celebrated artists.
Pre-sale tickets for both GRiZMAS shows at The Masonic Temple are available starting today at 1 PM ET using the link
