Alternative duo Hàn Gắn unveil anthemic single ‘New Terms’

Hàn Gắn (Heal in Vietnamese) are a U.S. music duo based in Washington D.C. The group incorporates elements of post-rock, post-punk and hardcore, singer-songwriter, and darkwave. Formed in 2017 by Matthew T. Eng and J. Brian Nicewander, the duo critique political cultures and reflect on their own experiences.

Now the pair return with a fresh cut ‘New Terms’, a visceral anthem that blends both punk and indie rock. The entrancing juggernaut is a loud and energetic call out of destructive people and systems.

In their own words about the track, Hàn Gắn shared, “New Terms is a boisterous call out of the people, systems, and attitudes that no longer serve us.”

As part of the single release two new tracks are included in addition to the lead track ‘New Terms’; ‘Patterns in Vivo’ and ‘Before The Bomb’.

The release of ‘New Terms’ continues the group’s evolution and transcendence following their two full length albums ‘The City of Magnificent Intentions’ (2018)  and ‘Tragically Optimistic’ (2022). Their debut showcased  their post-hardcore credentials, complete with their signature politically driven songcraft, while ‘Tragically Optimistic’ built upon all the facets of the duo’s musical personality and marked their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
