Indie-Pop Breakout Ed Staal Shares ‘That Girl’ Ahead Of New EP

Hertfordshire, UK based up and coming pop artist Ed Staal Shares another look at his upcoming EP on the brilliant new single ‘That Girl’, the third single to be taken from the upcoming 4 track release Battle Scars & Broken Hearts. The follow up to ‘Baby Blue’ and ‘Why’, the new single see’s the single once again demonstrate his talents as a producer, songwriter and performer.

Leaning on tight beats and funky guitar and bass lines, ‘That Girl’ offers an emotive, infectious R&B-pop sound, packed with commercial appeal and once again showcasing Staal’s pin point perfect, soulful vocal talents. Offering yet another look at the stunning sonic warmth and musical depth on display across the EP, ‘That Girl’ is a fine example of Ed’s spotless, honest songwriting.

Talking about the single Ed adds: “I made ‘That Girl’ as a way of saying “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” to that one friend you like who is just an absolute mess. It’s an energetic cross of Pop, Rock and Punk and is a song that I’ve been itching for people to hear since the second I had the song ready to release. I really think people are going to enjoy this one.”

Building on regular support from BBC Introducing, radio play from BBC Radio 1 and across tastemaker music magazines including Clout, Alfitude and Backseat Mafia, Ed has gained a whole host of tastemaker press coverage as well as over 150,000 streams on Spotify alone and has now found himself amongst a talented team of creators in ‘Syndicate Management’. Working with this team, Ed has curated his greatest works yet in the form of an upcoming EP in collaboration with artist/producer Dom Porter. Having already built a reputation as an exciting young artist, the new EP will surely see Ed Staal soar to new heights.
