London-based indie rock band We Are The Darts releases their long-anticipated 10-track album ‘Who Are You Again?’ featuring the captivating lead single ‘Open Letter’. Known for their infectious riffs and soaring melodic choruses, the band’s debut album showcases a collection of songs reflecting six years of musical growth, youthful exploration, and heartfelt storytelling.
‘Who Are You Again?’ is a sonic “lucky bag” of tracks, offering listeners a diverse range of moods and emotions. As frontman Brian notes, “The album is about growing up, not settling for less, and dreaming of something bigger.” Each song is a reflection of the band’s journey through life and music, with tracks like ‘We Are’, ‘Maybe Maybe’, ‘Setting Sun’, and ‘Forgotten One’ already giving fans a taste of the emotional depth and vibrant energy that defines the album.
‘Open Letter’, the focus single off the album, captures the essence of young love and naivety. Written on an out-of-tune acoustic guitar in a bedroom in South Africa and refined years later in a small East London flat where the song’s melody came to life, finally bringing the track’s spirited and introspective vibe into full form. Brian explains, “‘Open Letter’ is about love, exploration, immaturity, enthusiasm, passion, and cluelessness. All the hallmarks of youth.”
Their debut single ‘Sunshinin’’ in 2017 set the tone for the band’s sonic journey, but it’s their album ‘Who Are You Again?’ that brings together the full scope of their artistry. Recorded at The Ranch Production Studios in Southampton with producer Daly George, the album was born out of a desire to capture their creative evolution. Despite being spread across different locations—Brian having relocated to Ireland—the band came together to craft an album that speaks to themes of hope, anger, love, life, and the desire for something more.
Formed in 2015 by Irish brothers Brian and Stephen in London, We Are The Darts quickly gained traction in the underground music scene with their distinct brand of guitar-driven indie rock. Their signature sound—a blend of catchy riffs and anthemic choruses—was further developed when Shane joined on drums in early 2016, followed by bassist Izaak to solidify the band’s final lineup. Over the years, We Are The Darts has played gigs across London, including showcase performances with leading promoters Scruff of the Neck and This Feeling, two of the UK’s most prominent supporters of unsigned talent.
With their first full-length record now available and a tour in the works, We Are The Darts are poised to make their mark on the indie rock scene with their infectious sound and relatable lyrical themes.
