nstagram is reportedly warning users who play more than 90 seconds of copyrighted songs to stop or risk having their livestream shut down.
A pop-up window has been employed to warn livesetreamers against playing over 90 seconds of songs they don’t own the rights to, DJ Mag reported. During a recent edition of Swizz Beats’ popular Verzuz DJ battle series, Okayplayer noted that Swizz urged contenders comply with copyright rules.
As the move obviously affects DJs and artists using the platform for live performances, Instagram has published new guidelines for livestreaming, which, among other things, suggest people instead use Facebook’s Sound Collection archive of samples and tracks.
