On the final single before the release of their debut EP, LUMANISTA I, ZOCO–the international rock project founded by multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter Marco Zocco and manned alongside his brothers Paolo Zocco and Matteo Zocco – offers an energetic rebellion against the modern age of digital excess and instant gratification, urging listeners to resist the numbing effects of 2025’s daily vices, reconnect with their true selves.
An explosive anthem, “Overstimulated” speaks directly to a generation addicted to distraction. Blending punchy hard rock with urgent hooks, it confronts the dopamine-driven culture of excess, comparison, and endless scrolling. It’s a battle cry against modern numbness – a demand to unplug, wake up, and reclaim your identity before we lose ourselves completely – serving as a wakeup call for 2026.
With a steady, driving meter of an imperial march, compelling and explosive electric guitar riffs, electronic patches and synths straight out of the European club scene, charged vocals and storytelling, a revealing oxymoron in the lyric “altogether, all alone,” and a call to action to “get the f*ck off your phone,” ZOCO boldly sets the tone for their five-song collection in “Overstimulated” out February 20.
“Overstimulated” arrives after “Restless,” “Diamond In The Rough,” and “Searching” in ZOCO’s chronology of singles; LUMANISTA I which arrives March 6 features these four works in addition to the alternative Nelson-produced bonus track “Overstimulated (Nelson Version).” Like the previous single drops from LUMANISTA I, “Overstimulated” highlights ZOCO’s intelligent and thought-provoking songwriting paired with top-notch production and musicianship. The upcoming EP comes to life with the help of some high-profile collaborators–production by Gunnar Nelson (Nelson), executive production by Kerry Brown (Smashing Pumpkins), co-production by Jake Pace, co-production and playing from Carmine Rojas (David Bowie, Rod Stewart), and guest performances from GRAMMY-winning producer Theron “Neff-U” Feemster (Dr. Dre, Eminem, Michael Jackson), Matthew and Gunnar Nelson (Nelson), Guy Erez (Alan Parsons), London Hudson (Return to Dust, Suspect208) and Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats).
Born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland to American and Italian parents, Marco embodies an international identity. Holding three passports and fluent in four languages, he draws deep inspiration from the rich mix of cultures that shaped him. That influence is felt on ZOCO’s tracks, where signature guitar riffs return to the forefront, layered with piano, synth work, bass, and drums. Every song takes the audience on an unexpected journey, relevé with violins, organs, saxophones, rhythm, key changes and grandiose sonic detours. Marco writes and performs all of ZOCO’s material–guitar, piano, bass, drums, vocals, and lyrics– joined by his younger brothers, Paolo and Matteo, and a revolving lineup of talented collaborators who help bring his creative vision to life.
