Irish newcomer Hayleon releases debut single ‘Warrior’

Irish newcomer Hayleon releases her impressive debut single Warrior, out now.

Combining influences of Scandi-pop and traditional Irish folk, Hayleon creates a unique mix of synthetic and organic music. The combination of sounds including fiddle, low whistle and the ethereal production enables Hayleon to create a sound that will undoubtedly stand out. Talking about the single, Hayleon explains, “Warrior is about female relationships and how amazingly supportive and wholesome they can be. The flip side of that is how toxic female relationships can be, both physiological and emotional. This song deals with the loss and pressure of a female relationship. We expect mothers to be a sanctuary but some women won’t take this life trajectory. Ultimately we save ourselves from these bad relationships.”

Hayleon is a pandemic project created by Hannah Ryan (vocals, fiddle). Hannah was formerly a member of the ambient folk collective Pine the Pilcrow who have previously received support from the likes of Hot PressNialler9 and The Last Mixed Tape to name a few. Now, with the help of James Smith (piano, guitar, low whistle, production), Hannah is excited to explore new soundscapes and captivate listeners with her unique blend of atmospheric folk-pop.
