OUT TODAY, JULY 30 VIA 3DOT RECORDINGS

SONG TO APPEAR ON NEW ALBUM OUT OCTOBER 1, 2021

“If you have people over for dinner, you’re not likely to put on Slayer,” muses electronic music producer Jake Bowen.

You’d be much more likely to play The Daily Sun, also the Periphery guitarist’s second solo electronic album — eight largely zen-like tracks built on sequenced synthesizers, glitchy beats and ambient atmospheres.  Today, July 30, music enthusiasts get the first taste of the album due to arrive October 1, 2021 with the release of its title track on 3DOT Recordings.

“The Daily Sun” rides a sequenced keyboard pattern and hazy programming. Bursting synths with a lush, dynamic arrangement serves the instrumental as an introduction of what’s to come on Bowen’s new project and the follow-up to his 2014 debut Isometric.

Says Bowen, “’The Daily Sun’ is the first piece of music I completed for my upcoming record. This track stands out to me because it’s a leap forward in sound design and arrangement.  As I return to my solo project after a seven-year lag, I realize that whatever I release has to be the most honest representation of where I am musically, and I feel this track is just that.”

Look for additional details about The Daily Sun album to be made available in the coming weeks.  Meanwhile, LP enthusiasts can pre-order the album today as a transparent blue with gold splatter two-piece vinyl gatefold package, limited to a quantity of 300.
