In anticipation of 4/20 i’d love to introduce you to Jam Master Jays – pre-rolled joints in honor of Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell of Run DMC. Run by the Mizell estate, Jam Master Jay’s throw-back cassette tape packaging bring’s a token of nostalgia from Hip Hop’s Golden Era. Inside are four pre-rolls (2 grams total) of the appropriately named cannabis, Queens OG, by Strain Theory in Los Angeles. A fitting tribute to JMJ who, while not heavily publicized, was himself an avid smoker.
This Saturday on April 17th, Jam Master Jays will be celebrating their expansion to Colorado at the Denver Native Roots store. In attendance alongside the Mizell’s will be A$AP Ferg who will be available for a meet and greet. Details on entry here.

Launched on October 30th, 2020, the 18 year anniversary of Mizell’s death, Jam Master Jays brings us back to a time when sharing music was more personal and community-driven. Lighting up so far, A$AP Ferg, Dave East, Demrick, YG, Mike Tyson, Snoop Dogg, and more have already been seen repping their cassette case. Jam Master Jays are available in three Cookies locations in LA -Melrose, Woodland Hills, and Maywood. Native Roots in Colorado will be the brand’s first step into statewide distribution, and will be followed by Michigan and Massachusettes.
