Sunday 29th of August Bank Holiday weekend Jika Jika Festival will take place as a one day rave at the new Boneyard venue in Derry, following on from Drumcode Derry event which takes place on the Saturday. Jika Jika presents a line up of some of the best UK music heads currently on the scene.
The tantalising line up will feature Special Request who’s consistent output is influenced by all corners of club music creating a unique rave infused sound. Joined by Daniel Avery, the London based DJs is fresh off the back of releasing his latest full length album, which was originally conceived from a live performance at Hackney Church, that dropped on Phantasy Sound earlier this year.
Or:la returns to Derry for a homecoming set, the DJ who shot to prominence off signing to Scuba’s Hotflush label in 2016. Since then a wave of strong releases and sets at landmark clubbing institutions worldwide have established her as one of the most exciting DJs in the UK. Support comes from Mark Blair, quickly building an enviable release catalog with recent eps dropping on Trick and Frappé, the Belfast based DJ is living up to the tag of one to watch this year.
With Festivals, Clubs and Venues now reopening across the UK Jika Jika Festival In Derry is the perfect return for the city’s revellers and those traveling from further afield. The brand new multi purpose space ‘Boneyard’ sits on the edge of the city. The open air venue will be drafting in next level production and stage design, Jika Jika’s take over will present it in a never seen before light. Marking this event out as a real ‘I was there’ occasion.
