John Dimas announces new label and party series SYNQ

20 years after his first gig, John Dimas remains right on the top of his game as we head into the new decade. This spring brings new music on his own new label, continued collaborations as VOIGT.MAS with Voigtmann, and an ever hectic DJ diary.

Dimas has been on the radar of those who know for nearly ten years now. His fluid grooves, minimal intricacies and ability to coax unusual grooves and rhythms from his deft sound designs has won him fans with heady DJs and connoisseur dancers alike — not least through his esteemed debut album One Against Time, released on his own imprint Elephant Moon in 2018.

In 2020 he has been quick out of the blocks with DJ gigs all over Europe, Australia and the US. Next to this, his collaboration with Claus Voigtmann as VOIGT.MAS has seen the pair come together over their shared love of fat basslines and stripped back grooves, with 2020 shows already stacking up plus a debut album Internal Transmission scheduled on their own new label INTERMISSION.

Dimas has also started another new label SYNQ that has turned heads right from the get go. The first release arrives late April and is dubbed the Rave Wave EP, and is another hard hitting two-tracker of futuristic house, electro and techno fusions that are designed for the dance floor, and ooze a unique sense of style. It is also a party series that deals in similarly high concept sounds that will launch in a very special location in October, with details to be revealed soon.

The future takes John to cult gatherings like an Easter Half Baked, UNUM Festival in Albania and Hide&Seek Festival in Manchester, as well as Gottwood where he plays as one half of VOIGT.MAS and also his Secret Universe alias. All the while he also continues to A&R exciting new talents to his Elephant Moon label, meaning John Dimas remains one of the most on form artists of the underground.
