It includes singles ‘Adam In The Evening’ & ‘All Add Up’
London singer-songwriter Josh Barry has unveiled his long-awaited debut EP ‘Art & Soul’, out now.
A six-track release, ‘Art & Soul’ opens with ‘All Add Up’, a soul-drenched single that sees Josh’s vocal talent take centre stage amidst sparse drums and emotive guitars, referencing sounds synonymous with the soul greats such as Otis Reading and guitar legends like Jimi Hendrix. Very much setting the tone for the rest of the EP, ‘All Add Up’ is followed by the gospel tones of ‘Spirit Road’; powerful, virtuous energy of ‘Bad Fruit’ and heart-on-sleeve ‘Rush’. Next up is his most recent single, the emotion-tinged ‘Adam In The Evening’, before things are closed out by the heartfelt romance of ‘Waiting On Your Call’.
On his debut EP, Josh comments: “It’s taken a team effort over these past years to bring this body of work this far, so to know that they are finally out in the ether is beyond exciting.
“Looking at the response from the first singles is so encouraging and to receive such inspiring feedback from other artists, creatives and fans around the world, fills me with pride. It’s an addictive feeling that validates all the hard work. I feel truly blessed to be able to pursue this, especially in the current climate.
Thank you to all of my team and my family & friends for helping me bring this to life.”
Josh broke onto the scene in 2017 after winning the Glastonbury ‘Emerging Talent’ competition, later going on to play no fewer than seven shows across the festival. Captivating audiences with his soulful tones and charisma, Josh went on to support Rag N Bone Man later that year throughout his UK tour. He has had similar success as a dance music vocalist, collaborating with the likes of SG Lewis, Sonny Fodera and Friction. Touring as the lead singer for Gorgon City’s live shows since 2014, Josh has frequented internationally-renowned festivals and stages such as Coachella, SXSW, Red Rocks and Glastonbury.
An honest, emotionally charged collection of tracks, ‘Art & Soul’ is Josh Barry at his most candid.
