Hashian teamed up with co-director, Spicy Rico of the Reel Goats, and Warner Bros to incorporate beautiful and powerful cinematic footage from Black Adam throughout the video. She tapped into the parallels between Johnson’s character and Zayne’s upbringing in the Congo. As a result of social and political unrest, as a child Zayne was evacuated and separated from his family for years never to return to his home in the Congo. Having felt exiled in his youth, Zayne, Tokio and Hashian pulled from this experience to create a gripping and deeply moving song and video.

Said Hashian of the video, “I felt especially grateful to work with so many people who are family and chosen family on this project. From my husband, Dwayne, to the producers of the film who are like family, to Eric who is like a brother and the rest of our music team. Knowing their stories and also how much this monumental film and highly personal song meant to them all, we wanted those combined forces of the film and song to be visually riveting and for people to really feel something when they watch this video and listen.”

From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action adventure Black Adam. The first-ever feature film to explore the story of the DC antihero comes to the big screen under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (“Jungle Cruise”).

In ancient Kahndaq, the slave Teth Adam was gifted the almighty powers of the gods.  But he used those powers for vengeance and was imprisoned.  Now, 5,000 years later, he is freed and once again wields his dark sense of justice onto the world.  Refusing to surrender, Teth Adam is challenged by a team of modern day heroes known as the Justice Society—Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Atom Smasher and Cyclone—who seek to return him to eternal captivity.

“Exile” is available now on all digital streaming platforms. Please find video credits below.
