American producer / musician Lil Seyi ropes in Parisisna DJ / beat-maker Mosey to deliver a silky smooth, deep-house influenced remix of ‘Leather Free Seats’, lifted from Seyi’s recent EP ‘A Blue Tesla Story’ out now through Kitsuné Musique.
Mosey says: “It’s a feel-good remix that falls in the Dilla House genre and combines some of my favourite influences: soul in the harmonic frame, French house in the mix and bass line, and finally this light rhythmic twist that pays homage to the venerable J Dilla.”
In “Leather Free Seats,” the protagonist of the EP faces his demons and the painful consequences that await him. On this track, Seyi enjoys varying his flows over an instrumental where the strictness of the kicks blends with the madness of the cymbals and the saturated bass. Together, these elements bring a joyful groove that contrasts with the harsh reality that the protagonist is forced to endure, and the dark thoughts that run through his mind.
Lil Seyi’s “AC Press,” was the EP’s first single and the introduction to the young American’s tale. The story opens with the protagonist driving along the highway with his brother in the front seat. Things quickly take a turn for the worse… Watch the official music video for “AC Press” here.

Born in Prince George’s County, Maryland to Nigerian Immigrants, music has always been a part of Lil Seyi’s life. Before high school, Lil Seyi had taught himself how to play the guitar and drums. Not so long after that, he picked up the keyboard and taught himself how to produce music. After the release of several singles via Kitsuné Musique and his wonderful Remixes EP, Lil Seyi is back with A Blue Tesla Story, a project that shines a spotlight on his artistic ambitions. The EP tells a story, intended to be listened to in its entirety, from the perspective of a young protagonist who is determined to live up to his responsibilities as an artist. Throughout the four tracks, Lil Seiy’s thoughtful storytelling perfectly honours the intricate music he produces.
