The new albumBack in My Body from Los Angeles based R&B meets Neo-soul sensation MALIA.
Following the heartbreak experienced in MALIA’s 2022 project What’s After, “I Love You?, Back in My Body emerges as a concept album that captivates the senses, elevates the mind, and touches the soul. In this deeply personal and cathartic journal of self-discovery and healing, MALIA captures her transformative journey as she reclaims her life story. Listeners are invited to experience a fully immersive and profound musical metamorphosis as MALIA delves into illuminating subconscious patterns, healing inner wounds, and ultimately reclaiming responsibility for her own destiny. It’s a meditation on quieting the yearning for acceptance she was looking for outside of herself, reconnecting with the divine, and creating a grounded and safe sense of home. Years of hardening and buried beauty are unraveled in this great softening, paving a new path that leads her out of her head and back into her body: A better version of herself emerges.
The hope is that this album may serve not only as an inspiration, but as an invitation for others to embark on a healing journey, as well. They’ll certainly have a soundtrack for the experience. MALIA has been enchanting audiences globally, garnering millions of streams and fans, and even catching the attention from Alicia Keys. Alicia personally selected her to cover a track for the 20th anniversary of Songs In A Minor, earning MALIA a featured spot on Alicia’s Spotify profile.
