Meet Malka – the Latin infused songstress who has just released her first ever single ‘PA TI PA TI’ on 20th October 2023.
It’s been a long time coming for the singer-songwriter, and she prepares to show the world exactly what she is made of. Offering up a tight blend of Reggaeton and Latin infused dance pop, Malka has expertly crafted her own unique and striking sound. ‘PA TI PA TI’ (which translates to “For You For You”) delivers a feel-good factor from the get-go, and is set to bring some Latin heat to any dance floor across the globe.
As Malka alternates between English and Spanish, the chorus call of “Nada Aqui Pa Ti” (which means “Nothing Here For You”) exemplifies Malka’s empowering lyricism, as she hints at the song being about girls not searching for the male gaze and their advances.
The single comes with an equally sultry video, with the visuals being shot in Latvia by upcoming female director Svetlana Licova. Watch the official video here.
Building up to her first release, Malka has been busy in the studio, working with the UK’s hottest Latin producer DUKUS (Yxng Bane, Giggs, Headie One) as well as recording in Amsterdam with renowned producer Pascal Nanlohy (Sam Feldt, Feddie le Grand.)
Speaking on the track, Malka reveals: “I wanted my first release to be sexy, playful and fun with good energy as I feel that’s what most of my music is about. I don’t want my music to be complicated or hard to get, I just want people to push play and dance and feel good. Sure, the topic is about guys always pulling different moves on girls, but it happens, sometimes the other way around but it’s all fun and games!”
About Malka:
Born and raised in Spain, Malka’s roots consist of British, Moroccan, Ukrainian and Uzbek, which is no wonder Malka’s music is a gorgeous melting pot of sounds. Growing up in the south of Spain, Malka grew up listening to Reggaeton music and dancing Flamenco at school, whilst being exposed to a huge range of cultural sounds from Russian, to Arabic, to Hebrew songs. Aware of her innate passion to sing and perform from a young age, Malka originally trained classically, which set the foundations for her range, musicality and technique. Being scouted at the age of 14 by an A&R at GME Universal Music Spain, Malka was then propelled into industry from a very young age.
After moving to London in her later teenage years, Malka was offered a position in a five piece R&B girl band, but with little creative control. When COVID hit a couple of years later, she decided to leave the girl band and take matters into her own hands. She spent the lockdowns writing music, reaching out to producers and creating demos in her room.
Having gained a plethora of knowledge from the industry already, Malka is finally ready to share her craft and reap the rewards.
Inspired by the likes of Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Camilla Cabello and Becky G (to name a few), Malka aims to be the middleman of both traditional and contemporary sounds.
The young talent just performed at The Half Moon, Putney on 19th October. Already making her mark on the live circuit, Malka has recently played at many festivals and gigs across the UK, warming up for the likes of CECIL. The songstress has also accumulated an impressive 80k followers across her Tiktok and Instagram.
With an impressive debut release now under her belt, one thing is for sure, Malka is a name everyone needs to know..
