The Merseyside newcomer serves up his debut ‘Move Ya Waistline’ EP on the label this Spring

With the title cut already in heavy rotation for Schak, Hannah Laing, and label boss Patrick Topping himself, Merseyside-based Matt Hibbert makes his smash debut on Trick sporting his pumping, Euro-influenced sounds across his ‘Move Ya Waistline’ EP, featuring veteran UK artist Pianoman on the digital flip, who has credits on acclaimed labels from Ministry Of Sound to Sony.
“I loved the late 90s Dutch house sound growing up, the big synths and bouncy basslines. I tried to make something that wouldn’t have sounded out of place if you were crate-digging in a record shop in Liverpool in 1998. It’s a special release to me not just because it’s the first record I’ve signed to my dream label, but it’s basically a love letter to the music I grew up listening to.” – Matt Hibbert.
