Midland has won ‘Essential Mix of the Year’ for 2016
Late in February, British DJ Harry Agius delivered a stunning Essential Mix under his Midland moniker. Agius’ contribution stood out among its competition immediately upon its broadcast, in terms of its tastefulness, masterful arrangement, and vastly eclectic nature. Ranging from Four Tet to Frankie Valli, Midland’s Essential Mix is the culmination of his mission statement to “create a homogeneous sound that people from different musical persuasions can appreciate.”
Now, Midland has officially won the prestigious honor of Essential Mix of the Year, emerging triumphantly against a strong pool of 2016 contenders; EMOTY’s other nominees included heavyweight efforts from Âme X Dixon, Recondite, Dusky, and Leon Vynehall.
