With an otherworldly piano line and vocals that echo like a voice in a dream, Mifarma—the musical alter ego of New York-based artist Danielle Alma Ravitzki—unveils her powerful new single, “Somnambulist.” The track marks the latest release from her forthcoming English-language debut album, Mifarma, slated for release later this year.
Listen in here:
Opening in near silence before a delicate piano melody tiptoes into focus, “Somnambulist” builds into a cinematic exploration of sleepwalking through trauma, memory, and emotional disassociation. Haunting vocals hover just above the surface, capturing the eeriness of being physically present but mentally adrift. Composed by Ella Joy Meir, the single is a hypnotic meditation on the subconscious—the parts of ourselves that emerge only when no one is watching.
“Somnambulist” is the second single from Mifarma, following the critically praised release of “I Left the Room Without My Hair,” and continues to chart the emotional terrain of identity, transformation, and healing. The upcoming album is a genre-blending, emotionally driven body of work produced by two-time Grammy nominee Carmen Rizzo (Seal, Paul Oakenfold, Alanis Morissette), with additional contributions from Earl Harvin, Melissa Lingo, and Piers Faccini.
Known for her acclaimed releases in the Hebrew-language music world, including a debut in 2013 and a follow-up in 2017, Mifarma’s shift to English-language songwriting reveals a rawer, more intimate dimension of her artistry. Her sound pulls from alternative, classical, and experimental influences, underscoring lyrics that are both poetic and unflinchingly honest.
“Somnambulist” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
