The EP explores the Italian duo’s deeper production capabilities.
Electronic masters Mind Against have unveiled new EP ‘Reveries’, out 29th October on forward-thinking Berlin-based imprint Maeve.
A four-track release, ‘Reveries’ opens with the title track, an arresting sonic tapestry consisting of driving synths, fluttering arpeggios and fleeting vocal samples. Next up, ‘Prophet’ is characterised by its deftly-crafted melodies, while ‘Harp’, staying true to the track title, centres around majestic strings. Closing things out with serene beauty, ‘Dawn’ sees Mind Against conjure the kind of energy reminiscent of a breathtaking sunrise.
‘Reveries’ marks their second EP release in quick succession, following ‘Changes’, a two-tracker on Afterlife. They also contributed to the Alan Fitzpatrick and Lawrence Hart’s ‘Warning Sings’ remix package.
Drawing from IDM, house and techno, Italy-born, Berlin-based duo Mind Against have previously expressed their emotive, psychedelic sound on labels such as Hotflush or the Life and Death imprint. Their unique DJ sets, often performed in many of the world’s best venues, create a special kind of feeling in the club, at once uplifting, dark, driving and melodic.
Mind Against’s second EP for 2021 is proving to be a richly creative year for one of electronic music’s most distinguished duos.
