Morcheeba share two Kutiman remixes of their single ‘The Moon’ – Stream The Moon (Kutiman Remixes) Here
With pulsing synth and deep drums, Kutiman turns ‘The Moon’ into two different Organica remixes Ver A and Ver B. “I’ve been exploring new genres and musical territories as I always do. This time it’s electronics and a Morcheeba remix was the perfect opportunity to give my inner clubber a go in the studio. I Had so much fun working on this remix that when i finished i still wanted to play with it a bit more so i remixed my remix,” says Kutiman.
Morcheeba discovered the Israeli-born composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, like a lot of people do, through his amazing Instagram. “We love his eclectic taste in production, he did not disappoint with these minimal electro versions of ‘The Moon’, ” says the band. “I’d been a fan of Kutiman for a few years. His production style is so fresh and quirky,” adds Ross Godfrey.
The Moon’ is a cover originally by Irena Žilić, a Croatian singer-songwriter. Ross fell in love with the song when they shared a bill in Zagreb with Irena and asked her permission to cover it. Skye added another verse to it and that is where the album title ‘Blackest Blue’ came from.
‘The Moon’ (Kutiman Remixes) follows the release of the exclusive Record Store Day 12” Vinyl, ‘Blackest Blue – The Remixes’, which saw some of the best electronic music heads re-imagine singles taken from the band’s latest album ‘Blackest Blue’; Gui Boratto turned ‘Sounds Of Blue’ into a progressive electronica/chill house cut, one of the two Kutima’s reworks of ‘The Moon’ sat nicely next to the dancefloor stomper remix of ‘Namaste’ by British electronic music giants Orbital, with eccentric French musician and producer Voyou providing another take on ‘The Moon’. Released in May 2021, ‘Blackest Blue’ was described as “bold, mercurial, and enthralling” by Albumism. Morcheeba’s latest album ‘Blackest Blue’ is available on all Platforms – Stream // Buy here
