LA-based artist Nikitaa is creating her own unique blend of ethereal pop and R&B dosed with Indian instrumentation and culture. Her poetic lyricism is inherently clever, honing in on her personal experiences that are colored by the spiritual.
Born and raised in Mumbai, Nikitaa has always wanted to pursue music. At the age of four she started taking piano lessons and training in Indian Classical, and as she grew up she participated in school choir and group competitions. Although she has been writing lyrics and poetry since she was child, it was when she was 10 years old that she knew that music was something she wanted to do forever. In high school she decided to take music more seriously, convincing her parents to let her move to
LA to study. Once Nikitaa graduated in 2017, she set her sights on her career as an artist, and put out her first single, Honest, in 2018.
Nikitaa finds healing and joy through singing, crediting it with being her therapy throughout her life. She is musically inspired not only by artists such as Beyonce, A.R. Rehman, Frank Ocean, and Banks, but also from her early classical upbringing and training. Nikitaa yearns for large-scale success, dreaming of putting on productions such as a large theatre-level live show. She aims to be a household
name, to have her music reach far and wide and empower her listeners.
