Rising Amsterdam-based alt-pop artist Noha Saré returns with a bold new single ‘All’, delving deeper into her emotions and leaning on big pop hooks to demonstrate her talent as pop’s one to watch.
Following on from the recent acclaimed track ‘Lost’, ‘All’ fuses a magnetic sprightly melody over Noha’s personal musings on love and healing. The wry lyrics in combination with a cheerful sounding melody create an interesting tension.
She explains: ‘All’ is about a toxic situation that some might recognise; a relationship in which you cannot break free from and choose for yourself, despite all the humiliation and pain. And when you’ve reached the point of total despair, sometimes, an apparent invulnerability is the only thing that’s left. That‘s what the song is about: Through cynicism and ridicule I try to maintain my dignity and autonomy; a final survival strategy, stemming from contempt for the other and for myself.”
About the video, she says: “Inspired by the hidden absurdity of our everyday lives, Puck Litaay (director) and I translated the song into ironic series of fantasies in which I try to break free from my lover. At first glance, the viewer might recognise these images; A couple, placed in various quasi-romantic settings. But nothing’s what it seems. Without batting an eye, I sing along with the song while my partner gets killed in most cinematic, theatrical ways”.
Noha Saré is a 24-year-old singer who stands out for her powerful, yet sensitive voice. Drawing on various genres, her music cannot be classified into one specific category; Noha’s music tends to swing like her moods. She loves to play with contradictions in her personality and likes to dive into them and explore them. Both in her music and in the visuals that accompany it. Her debut single ‘Talk To Me’ as well as her second released single ‘Lost’ and third single ‘ALL’ are good examples of this: a soulful, authentic sound lined with elements of alternative R&B and electro pop. A bit of that with a theatrical edge on top.
