Nu-Gaze Duo Amethysts Shine On ‘Bloodline’ From Upcoming EP Via Tabby Tracks Records & Conch Town Records

Amethysts share the new single, ‘Bloodline’, released 15th September via Tabby Tracks Records/ Conch Town Records. The single is the first track to be taken from the duo’s upcoming EP New Moon.

Having previously worked with acclaimed producer Shuta Shinoda (Daughter, Ghostpoet, Anna Meredith, Hot Chip) and labels including RAMP Recordings (James Blake Jamie XX) and Manimal Vinyl (Bat For Lashes, Warpaint), the duo return to active duties with their first full release in two years, ‘Bloodline’. In a world where ‘genre’ can mean everything or nothing, Amethysts define their sound simply as ‘nu-gaze’.

Showcasing their unique soundscapes once again, the Alex Gordon (The Cure, Bat For Lashes) produced and Tom Stanford mastered new single, Bloodline see’s Amethysts bring together biting, shoegaze influenced guitar lines with punching drums, deep sub bass and to build a unique blend of electronic, indie and dreampop elements. Clarice & Simon’s delicate, melancholic and emotive vocal harmonies float above the soundscape delivering affecting tones and infectious melodies.

When talking about the new single Clairce comments: “Living in the transition from who you used to be, to who you are now after a significant life change. Bloodline is about the journey where you slowly start to find yourself again and realise the old you is now an enhanced and strengthened version of the person you used to be. And despite the challenges and conflicts with yourself along the way, you’d happily do it all again”

Renowned for their uniquely crafted atmospheric sound, the pair have built a glittering catalogue of tracks which have racked up over 1.7 million plays on Apple Music, over 750k on Spotify and seen them win multiple awards. Having received a whole host of press and radio support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music, Amazing Radio, Kerrang! Radio, BBC Introducing, Atwood Magazine, The Telegraph, Clash, DIY, Earmilk, Notion and many more, the band have opened for the likes of Anna Meredith, Bessie Turner and Nothing But Thieves and played sets at festivals including Latitude Festival, Secret Garden Party and BBC Introducing Live.

Forward to September 2023 and AMETHYSTS emerge from their studio cocoon, following an extended period of ‘production’ to embark the next phase of their careers.
