Thai now UK based up and coming pop Singer-Songwriter Samuel Oscar shares the new single ‘Wish You Were Here’.
A talented songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Samuel has already made a name for himself as one to watch. Having burst on the scene in 2020 with his emotionally charged, tight and always infectiously catchy tunes, Samuel has already accumulated over 14 million streams on YouTube alone, and he has no plans of slowing down anytime soon.
Now back with another fine addition to his growing catalogue, ‘Wish You Were Here’ once again showcases Oscar’s silky vocal delivery, relatable, heartfelt songwriting and vibrant musicality. Opening with a boxy sample over filtered out piano, the track soon grows into a fully fledged pop ballad with layers of well placed piano, guitar, bass and drums under the melancholic lyricism and emotive vocal delivery.
Speaking about the track, Sam explains that the track is about “Longing for that someone special in your life. I was in Iceland for work in the winter and my girlfriend was at home in London, UK. In this dark cold, 3 hours of daylight country, I found myself really missing my partner’s warmth and her optimistic views that she brings to my life. So I wrote this song about what it felt like to be in this situation.”
Having already amassed tastemaker press coverage for the likes of Clash, Samuel Oscar is surely set to establish himself as an exciting future pop prospect with new material on the horizon. The new single ‘Wish You Were Here’ is out now.
