The Alternative/ Indie-pop duo explore how one can become a souvenir of a past relationship. In the same way a fridge magnet is a memory of a holiday, remote delves into the complexities of sticking around when the other person has moved on.

This single follows the success of remote’s previous single “CANT DO THIS WITHOUT YOU”. Featured in the likes of ASBO Magazine, 1883 Magazine’s On Rotation, Atwood Magazine and The Honey Pop Music Blog, remote is making their mark in 2024.

remote (Ruben Harvey and Alex Hiles) formed their duo during the closing weeks of Sixth Form of March 2020. Their paths converged in February 2020 in Manchester, their shared hometown, oblivious to the fact that their forthcoming collaboration would become a lifeline during the pandemic. Inspired by the likes of Still Woozy, Remi Wolf and FINNEAS, producing music remotely became Alex and Ruben’s saving grace, hence the band name: remote.
“Souvenir” is another branch of remote’s experimentation of sound. They have much evolved from their first singles in 2021, but all tracks remain written and recorded entirely by Ruben and Alex in their Bedroom studio. “Souvenir” showcases remote’s multi-instrumental capabilities, with lush baselines, addictive lyricism, intricate guitar chords and a punchy beat. remote are eager to share this single with the world as Souvenir is a small slice of remote’s highly anticipated debut EP ‘I Need More Time’.
