Riches is the manifestation of an ongoing dialogue between Catherine McCandless of Young Galaxy and choreographer Wynn Holmes. It is a multidisciplinary, intercontinental collaboration of music, dance, and performance.
The duo have joined forces with Swedish producer, Dan Lissvik (Studio, Atelje), on “Hang In Pieces,” their shoegaze influenced new single. Dreamy and sunlit guitars weave nimbly among Holmes and McCandless‘ vocal harmonies, equal parts confrontational and reassuring.
The track explores the profound shift in headspace and feeling of crossing the threshold of the creative process into the altered, psychedelic, and beautiful web of intersecting ideas, senses, and feelings.
McCandless and Holmes explain that they are “both destroyed (hanging in pieces) by the endless performance / rites of getting there, as well as exultant; lit up and transformed.”
