Slovenian music artist ROJS, who currently resides between London and Los Angeles, has a distinct alternative style that combines inventiveness and adaptability with his superb production sense and smooth songwriting.
Returning with his latest single ‘You Now’, taken from his forthcoming debut album, Inner Light, ROJS is becoming more of a powerful force in the alternative music scene thanks to his ability to create timeless soundscapes and deeply connect with fans.
The song delivers a reflective listening experience with its use of a rich vocal palette and melancholic piano and background noise music. Blending raw emotion with innovative soundscapes, ROJS created the track one night when he felt overwhelmed with grief, due to the passing of his grandmother.
ROJS stumbled across a voice memo he received from a friend with background noise in a park, which then inspired him to fumble with the piano to this sound. The lyrics came to him organically. He expertly crafted ‘You Now’, encapsulating the spirit of loss and the ultimate acceptance he was unaware he was experiencing.
On the release, ROJS shares, “‘You Now’ is really just me discovering all the emotions that were bubbling up inside for the longest time.”
