Shanti Celeste has a new album on the way, titled ‘Romance’. The follow-up to her 2019 debut LP, ‘Tangerine’, the new record features nine tracks and places her own vocals at the centre of a number of its cuts. It is said to explore “the depth of romantic and platonic relationships”, according to a press release.
‘Romance’ will be jointly released by Peach Discs and Method 808 on 16th May. It features contributions from Batu, Hal Sutherland and Shivum Sharma.
The lead track, ‘Thinking About You’, is inspired by memories of a late friend. “He was my first boyfriend but also a really good friend,” Celeste said in a statement about the song’s focus. “He was a really important person in my life.”
In the years since she put out ‘Tangerine’ on Peach Discs, Celeste has released EPs on Hessle Audio and her own imprint.
