Berlin-based artist SOUKOU releases her heartwarming new single pick me up, out now.
Written as an ode to friends everywhere, pick me up once again showcases SOUKOU’s unique ability to create infectious soul-tinged pop with a powerful message. Talking about the single SOUKOU elaborates, “a good friend once told me, ‘feelings come and go – even the bad ones’, and that’s so true. pick me up is nothing more than a love song to my friends. In recent years, I’ve learned that I receive support whenever I can show how I truly feel. I couldn’t have done it alone, and my friends remain my life-saving islands, being there for me in both difficult and good times. I don’t think there’s anything I wouldn’t do for my inner circle. These are the people I talk to every day. About everything”
SOUKOU – aka Ena Soukou – is currently based in Berlin. From 2007 – at the tender age of nineteen – she conquered the clubs of Berlin as Ena Wild with her fusion of techno and electronic beats. Ena also works as a songwriter and has toured internationally with various circus productions whose soundtracks she composed herself. Ena previous singles Bloodline and Family have received praise from the likes of Wordplay Magazine, God Is In The TV and She Makes Music to name a few.
With pick me up, SOUKOU hopes to captivate listeners further with her unique blend of soulful synth-pop.
pick me up is the second single to be taken from SOUKOU’s EP, due for release 18th August 2023.
