Sub Focus announces new album ‘Contact’ shares ‘Original Don’

Sub Focus has revealed details of his forthcoming album, ‘Contact’, which will be released on 21st November. Alongside the news, he has shared the video for his latest single, ‘Original Don’, which features Fireboy DML and IRAH, and was directed by Tyrus.

The album will include 14 new tracks with features from a broad spread of artists, including Grimes, John Summit, Katy B, bbyclose, Subsonic, Poppy Baskomb, Connie Constance, Emily Makis, Inez and more.

Creative direction for the album, as well as the overall visual identity, including vinyl packaging and press shots, were handled by acclaimed photographer Neil Krug and design agency Big Active.

According to press materials, the central theme of the album was retro futurism and the optimism of Cold War-era space exploration. In particular, Sub Focus and Krug looked to the Golden Record that was sent on NASA’s 1977 Voyager mission that featured two identical records featuring sounds and data detailing life on Earth, intended to be viewed by any intelligent lifeform that might one day find them.

This will be Sub Focus’ fourth solo studio album, following his ‘Torus’, ‘Evolve’, and his self-titled album. In 2020, he also released ‘Portals’, a collaboration album with fellow Wilkinson.
