After the track was born out of a Sidemen Sunday challenge video‘Christmas Drillings’ entered the charts and through the power of the most committed community on the internet, it soared to No. 1 on iTunes. No labels. No promo. Just an incredible amount of support from people across the country. It has gone on to amass over 5.5 M streams on Spotify, over 7M views on YouTube and has spent 10 consecutive days in the Daily Top Songs UK playlist on Spotify so far.

So now, for one week only, the Sidemen have one mission. To raise as much money as possible for FareShare, with all proceeds going to the charity, whilst doing something they had never thought possible. With the power of the Sidemen fans, a Christmas No. 1 is in reach and they need everyone to get behind them and buy the track, in turn donating to charity and make a difference to someone this Christmas.

Vik from Sidemen says: “We’re so excited to be launching our Christmas No. 1 campaign for Christmas Drillings, raising money for the incredible charity Fareshare. They do such important work for communities across the country and we’re honoured to be working together on this”

Alyson Walsh, Commercial Director at FareShare says: “We’re thrilled to be Sidemen’s chosen charity for their fun and festive hit “Christmas Drillings”! Donations from streaming and downloads will help us get delicious surplus food to people all over the UK who are currently struggling because of the cost-of-living crisis.”

About FareShare: The cost-of-living crisis has had a disproportionate impact on people already struggling to make ends meet. FareShare works with the food industry to get good-to-eat surplus food, that may otherwise go to waste, to over a million people across the UK, via our network of 9,500 charities. These charities help tackle the root causes of poverty, providing both food and also wraparound services, such as domestic violence shelters, after school clubs, breakfast clubs, homelessness charities, and older people’s lunch clubs.
