Drops banging animated video for ‘Dragon, Robots & Heavy Metal’

Thousand Fingers aka London based Producer/Sound Engineer Hakan Ozkan, returns with a thumping, dance-floor oriented club banger ‘Dragon, Robots & Heavy Metal’ due this March. Following on from his recent disco inspired track ‘Je T’aime’, released last year,  Thousand Fingers continues to experiment with various genres resulting in a unique sonic smogasbord of forward thinking house music.

Hakan explains: “Guitars, electronic sounds, futuristic melodies, and all the other entire sonic happenings formed this EP to express the story of my musical journey since 2002. Two controversial styles, rock & dance music, been used together in the opening track – Dragon, Robots and Heavy Metal – with respecting their musical territories. Imagine a song that makes you dance and head-bang. In this EP, there are a lot of references from the 90’s, uplifting techy beats, and heavy arpeggios fuelling my new concept.”

For the animated video, Thousand Fingers roped in fellow Turkish animator Gokhan Okur, to create the lively, psychedelic visuals. “We wanted to explore the same controversial approach with the music video as well”, explains Hakan. “Digital animations filmed upon analogue walls or summer colours danced on de-saturated surfaces on a cold and dark London weather. We performed real-time animation techniques to emphasize the feeling of the guitar solos. Improvising, drawing and animating during the shooting were a part of the creative process.”

Originally from Turkey, the masters-educated producer takes the artform approach with his works – possessing a versatile and boundless sonic palate.

Often considered as a storyteller through his productions, Thousand Fingers’ creativity can be piqued in a variety of different ways – with inspiration for his tracks coming via all manner of different sensory responses. Be it a taste, smell, occasion, or an emotion, Thousand Fingers uses reactive processes to lay the foundations of his work.

His distinctive creative process often garners the attention of more obscure, unknown and indie labels. A firm believer that his music will find the right home for itself and end up in the hands of the right people – a simple ethos that has seen Thousand Fingers supported by the likes of &ME, Solomun, Maya Jane Coles and Miss Kittin, as well as receiving extensive press coverage from tastemaker outlets like FACT, Thump by Vice, DMC Magazine, i-DJ, Discobelle and more.

Outside of the studio, Thousand Fingers has graced some of Europe’s most revered club spaces. His performance resume includes Egg, Studio 338, Ibıza Rocks Bar, Blue Marlin Ibiza Bodrum, Klein, Kloster and Supper Club – offering him the opportunity to play alongside Markus Schulz, Gramatik, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Jackmaster, Danny Daze, Hercules & Love Affair, Pional, Mighty Mouse and many more.

Thousand Fingers comes equipped with an impressively high standard of academic background in music. An artist with many strings to his bow, on an organic path and drawing a truly artistic line in today’s music world, Thousand Fingers is an exciting artist to follow – one that grows and adapts consistently, that was made to blossom in the ever-changing world of electronic music.
