Toronto Indie Pop Artist ARK IDENTITY Finds Stillness in Change on Stripped-Back Single “I’m Still The Same”

oronto indie pop singer-songwriter and producer ARK IDENTITY returns with “I’m Still The Same” – a warm, stripped-back single that finds beauty in the smallest details when the rest of life feels uncertain. The track offers a quiet moment of grounding amid change, and is one of the most intimate releases from the artist to date. It’s the latest offering from ARK IDENTITY’s upcoming Deluxe Nightmare EP, out October 24th.

Leaning into minimal instrumentation and raw lyricism, “I’m Still The Same” feels less like a performance and more like a heartfelt conversation. For Noah Mroueh, the artist behind ARK IDENTITY, this one came together effortlessly.

“It’s about someone starting to notice the beauty and meaning in the little things – like crooked lines on the sidewalk or vines on a brick wall,” Noah shares. “Those details become more vivid when everything else in life feels uncertain, and they end up grounding you in a strange way.”

As with much of ARK IDENTITY’s work, the soundscape is immersive yet intimate – warm guitars, soft reverb, and plenty of space for silence to carry weight. The production leaves room for the emotion to breathe, perfectly pairing with Noah’s gentle, reflective vocals.

“‘I’m Still The Same’ sums up the feeling that even when the world shifts – seasons, friendships, family – your core self can feel unchanged,” Noah explains. “It feels bittersweet. There’s a sadness in watching things change, but also a comfort in realizing some parts of yourself stay constant.”

Like a snapshot in sound, “I’m Still The Same” preserves a fleeting feeling that many listeners will instantly recognize – the sense of standing still while the world moves around you.
