Uncertain releases new EP ‘Phrase’ via Symbolism

The Vienna-based producer’s ‘Phrase’ EP is released on January 16th via Ben Sims’ imprint.Following recent output for RSPX, H-Productions and Truncate, Uncertain kicks off 2026 with a five-track release entitled the ‘Phrase EP’ for Ben Sims’ Symbolism label.

Tough, uncompromising but shot through with the sort of strident funk we’d expect from a Symbolism release, Uncertain’s ‘Phrase EP’ isn’t messing about. From the off, tightly wound riffs are the backbone of this release from Uncertain. From the discordant repetition of opening track ‘Dysfunction’ via the crunchy distortion of ‘Interference’ and ‘Create’, each hook is tweaked for maximum impact, making for a memorable set of peak time cuts from one of the most bankable producers in techno (and house).

Active since 1989 as Boriqua Tribez and known as Uncertain since 2018, Uncertain has made a name for himself with diverse productions that have made him one of Beatport’s top-selling techno artists while his fast-paced three-deck mixing and dancefloor storytelling fuel his tours globally. Across the last three decades, he’s worked on over fifty releases on labels like TruncateBeard ManIllegal Alien, and Mind Medizin.

With the support of DJ BoneHoney Dijon, Jamiaica Suk, ANNE, James Ruskin, Ben Sims, Elisa Bee, Rodhad, Alienata, and many more already in the bank, Uncertain’s ‘Phrase EP’ is released on Symbolism on January 16th.
