Underdogs Music announces its Spring V/A ‘Viralatas’ featuring tracks from Leo Janeiro, ICLE, Seed Selector and more.

Following core label member ICLE’s December release ‘From Lockdown To Relief’, South American party crew Underdogs Music are back with a host of talent including Nu Azeite’s Bernado Campos and Live Motel, Brazilian talents Agatha Pardo and Caio Schmitz for their Caju project, and much more. This April, six energetic, Latin-infused blends are delivered across their ‘Viralatas’ V/A.

Peppered with guitar riffs and soulful vocals, Bernado Campos and Live Motel’s swung ‘Carnaval Sintético’ harnesses rich low-ends and blissful synths ahead of Underdogs prog-tinged rework of ICLE and Morgado’s ‘Sodade’, a twist on the 1970s MBP classic ‘Sodade, meu bum Sodade’. Here, rattling bongos, enticing Female lyrics and glossy keys work together in this emotive cut. Rolling drums, rhythmic tones and blaring horns get down in Caju’s peak-time disco-infused ‘Piña Colada’, prior to Leo Janiero’s chuggy, stripped back ‘Bongo Che’ awash with funky basslines and choppy vocals. Seed Selector ups the ante with the warped, dark-disco ‘RJ 50’s’, before ICLE serves up a harmony of glistening piano and vibrant percussion in the downtempo ‘Olha o Mate’ as a fitting finish to this tapestry of house, disco, and what lies in between.

Various Artists ‘ Viralatas’ drops via Underdogs Music on 15th April 2022.
