Pedro Barbosa is a singer-songwriter and full-time music artist with a diverse musical background. His passion for the creative craft of writing and recording new songs with inspirational messages, is enhanced by his strong unique voice and flamboyant yet gentle character.

PEDRO’s new single, ‘We Are Light’ created in collaboration with RADA Unearthed, is uplifting and empowering, its main intent is to bring people together. “The song shares a message about how important each of us are, we all matter,” says PEDRO. “It highlights the fact that when we stand united, we are powerful. We have a voice and together, we can fight against the wrongs in our world and work to make things right.”
“I believe in many things,” PEDRO explains. “Striving for unity, living with passion and always remembering that no one is better than anyone else. I truly believe we all have the power to make a difference and create positive change.”
PEDRO discovered his love for music at an early age, but it was not until the age of twenty that he realized it could become a full-time career. Committed to following his passion, he set out to explore where the road of music would lead. His natural talent is supported by formal training, including a National Diploma in Jazz, Performance and Sound Technology from the Contemporary Music College in Pretoria. He later expanded his expertise by studying Professional Songwriting and Production at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles.
PEDRO’s musical journey spans several years of performing with a band, culminating in the release of his debut solo album, REBORN, in 2018.
‘We Are Light’ features on RADA Unearthed Volume Three, a compilation album showcasing South African artists sharing messages of inspiration through their music.
“I’ve been involved with RADA for almost two years and I strongly believe in their mission to help change the world we live in to be a more positive place. Everyone involved is incredibly passionate about what they do, from the inspirational messages they share, to the powerful music they release and most importantly, their commitment to supporting those who need it most. It’s truly an honour and a privilege to be part of such a beautiful cause,” says Barbosa.
PEDRO is dedicated to creating more magic with a lot more music on the cards. When asked, what is next for you? “LIFE! Hopefully, lots of it :),” he responds.
