Following a year that’s seen high-profile collaborations, 71 Digits return to their roots with solo dance record No Air in MDNGHT Recording’s second label release.
Since their breakout in 2020 when mega-hit Somebody’s Watching Me with Chico Rose hit the mainstream and subsequently amassed over 115M Spotify streams, Mark Nieuwenhuijzen and Addy van der Zwan of 71 Digits have risen rapidly to make a permanent mark on the dance music scene. The Dutch duo boast a wide range of collaborations from EDM legends Timmy Trumpet and Hi_Tack to rap stars Pitbull and Flo Rida.
Known for dynamic club tracks and energetic reworks of classic songs that have seen features on Major Spotify playlists such as Energy Booster Dance and support from the likes of Afrojack and Blasterjaxx, 71 Digits have built a reputation as a well-oiled production machine. Tracks such as remix of Hi_Tack’s Say Say Say (Waiting 4 u) with Steff Da Campo have collected over 22M Spotify streams while rework of classic hip hop tune 5 On It has amassed over 17M Spotify streams.
The dynamic duo now return for an impressive solo record. A callback to the earnest and upbeat melodies of early 2000s pop, the crystalline beats, fresh production, and glossy breakdowns of No Air make for a mood-boosting ode of longing.
