Adam Beyer and Mark Reeve are back together on Drumcode with Do Our Thing, a four-track EP that taps into the label’s rolling dance floor roots as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.
Reeve has been part of the Drumcode family since his 2012 debut Drumatic, first joining forces with Beyer in 2016 for the now-classic “Nine of You.” The pair rekindled their studio partnership earlier this year with “Love Within,” which became the unofficial anthem of Drumcode Mallorca.
Their latest outing was inspired by a shared desire to bring some old-school energy back to the dance floor, with a fresh twist.
“The title – ‘Do Our Thing’ – really sums up the idea behind this EP. Just two friends making the music they love and doing what feels right,” Reeve explains.
Across four cuts, the duo deliver plenty of peak-time firepower. Opener “Synchronize” is a slick, driving tool built around a wicked guitar riff, while “Frames” ventures into melodic 4am territory with silky layers and full-bodied percussion. The title track ups the intensity with a rapped vocal, pin-sharp drums and a surprise-packed second half, before “Santiago” rounds things out with a soaring, punchy finale.
“After all these years, Adam and I still share the same passion, the same musical taste, and the same excitement about creating something together,” Reeve adds.
