Rome’s boundary-pushing DJ & producer Adiel alongside East London producer Pat Alvarez have come together to bring new life to Metronomy’s classic track ‘You Could Easily Have Me’ – out now via [PIAS] Électronique.

On the rework, Adiel says, “There’s something really special in the original track – it has a quiet intensity that stays with you. My idea was to preserve that feeling while giving it a new energy and space. I knew I wanted to work with Pat on this as we’ve been working together for a while now, and there’s a strong connection in how we approach music. That made the whole process feel very fluid, intuitive, and truly special.”
Close collaborator Pat Alvarez adds, “I’ve always loved Metronomy, so it was an easy yes when the remix came through. The original is quite minimal production wise, which meant there were loads of directions we could’ve taken before landing on something that felt right. What I’ve always been drawn to with Metronomy is how tight and funky their music is, but also how their earlier records lean slightly more raw and punk, which sits very naturally in both mine and Adiel’s world. We wanted to explore that crossover and push it a bit further into a club context.
Once we found the direction, it came together pretty quickly. We actually finished the first version the night Alessia was playing Glastonbury Festival and tested it out there, it worked straight away, which felt like the green light.
At the time I was revisiting one of my favourite LCD Soundsystem’s records “This Is Happening” and listening to a lot of Soulwax, especially how they blend live energy with club music, that definitely fed into it. And because we’ve been working together on Alessia’s records as well, we’ve reached a point where we really understand each other in the studio.”

After cutting her techno teeth as Goa Club resident, Adiel took wing, taking her hypnotic vinyl DJ sets to the likes of Berghain, DC-10, Circoloco, Awakenings, Dekmantel, fabric… while releasing striking solo works such as ‘Musicophilia’ and her collab with Donato Dozzy, ‘Cavallina’, plus running her Danza Tribale label. A ballet dancer for fifteen years before pursuing music, Adiel is a multimedia artist with incredible discipline and boundless creativity, also expressing herself via fashion and apparel, inc. a collaboration with Armani.
