Built for peak-time sets, “Energize” is a powerful trance cut that slams straight into the solar plexus. The track surges through the space relentlessly with thunderous kicks, frenetic synth rolls, mechanized stabs, and surly, glitching vocal loops—with a moment of reprieve offered by its masterfully executed uplifting breakdown.

The release follows last year’s single “Subjekt,” which served as his label debut via his AWaken alias and marks his third overall appearance on Dreamstate Records after the initial track “Pressure” under his main moniker. The latter earned radio and tastemaker support from Andrew Rayel, Nifra, Paul Steiner, Henry Moe, and Dada Life.

Reflecting on the track’s purpose and emotional force, Allen Watts shares: “Energize your soul with colour, your canvas with courage, and your art with the pulse of your passion.”

A product of the Dutch trance scene, Allen Watts is a Roden-based producer who has spent more than a decade reconfiguring the trance scene with his cutting-edge production. He launched his alter-ego AWaken as a means to give life to the heavier and harder-hitting variants of his uplifting sound. Following standout performances at ‘A State of Trance’ Rotterdam, EDC Mexico, Untold Festival, and Dreamstate SoCal, he’s set to keep the momentum going with upcoming shows at Trance Sanctuary for Bryan Kearney’s ‘Kearnage’ takeover at Ministry of Sound London, as well as his own ‘High Voltage’ showcase at Basing House.

With “Energize,” Allen Watts continues to bolster the stopping power of his AWaken moniker, delivering a jolt of pure dancefloor intensity to the Dreamstate catalog.

AWaken’s new single “Energize” is available on all platforms via Dreamstate Records.

More About Allen Watts

Allen Watts burst onto the scene in 2012. Having been an avid trance listener since the days of System F, Tiësto, and Paul Van Dyk, his own talent for making music lay beneath the surface for many years. Recognizing this talent, Allen shifted gears and delivered a fast debut release, “What May Come,” through Richard Durand’s Terminal 4 label. Taking early cues from producers like Dave202, The Thrillseekers, and the above-mentioned veterans, Watts followed up with “Split Second.” The track was picked up by Armin van Buuren and, as quickly as the name would suggest, catapulted Allen to the forefront of European club nights.

Any living soul capable of producing music of this caliber should be no stranger on stage, and Allen is no exception. His DJ style, authentic and devoid of flashy tricks, takes listeners on an ethereal, full-throttle journey into the realm of consciousness. Having traveled every corner of the globe from London to Los Angeles, Mexico to Thailand, and beyond, Watts has refined the raw edge that made his original sound and DJ sets so tangible. Despite constantly changing dance floor trends, he has always given us the extraordinary. In fact, a quick look at his gig diary and release schedule tells us that this melodic mastermind is in the prime of his career.
