Los Angeles, CA – Friday, August 7 – Electronic music persona ALPHA 9 returns to Dreamstate Records to release “Ascend,” his second single with the label. The single is a trance track serving as the second installment of his new saga, signifying the protagonist’s rise to a higher state of existence.
ALPHA 9 is the alter-ego of electronic music mainstay ARTY, a trance and progressive project immersed in the artform of world-building. It revolves around the narrative of a highly classified bioengineered operative chosen as the messenger for cosmic trance.
“Ascend” is built up with cinematic tension, weaving together guttural square waves, cosmic textures, soaring synth leads, and sweeping whooshes. These elements gradually give way to a piano-led breakdown, which unfolds into a driving sequenced finale, creating a sense of release and forward momentum.
It arrives on the back of the lead single “Dark Matter” from July, earning radio plays from Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Andrew Rayel, AVIRA, Myni8hte, DIM3NSION. Each single in this new wave will be accompanied by a field note: a journal-style entry log chronicling the hero’s journey backstory. Alpha 9 has an upcoming set at EDC Thailand, and a stop at Dreamstate SoCal.
