Hailing from New York but now residing in LA, Riccardo LeBron, aka Anakim, is an artist who has been carefully curating and crafting his own sound within house and techno over recent years and turning serious heads in the process. Self-described as a style that is ‘melodically rich and delightfully sinister’, his take on the genres has seen him play sets at Coachella, EDC, Holy Ship, Nocturnal Wonderland and more while also winning Insomniac’s Discovery Project. Highlighted by leading publications in Billboard, DJ Mag and Beatport, following releases via the likes of This Never Happened, Armada Electronic Elements, SOMATIC and Desert Hearts Black Records, he looks set to continue this impressive ascent as he returns to Afterlife alumnus David Lindmer and Andrea Kaeri’s Running Clouds imprint for ‘Return To Forever’ – with early support from Øostil to John Summit.

Title track ‘Return To Forever’ opens the package with authority, fusing menacing basslines and brooding synths with delicate leads and intricate pockets of space for an emphatic production built for maximum impact. Next, ‘After The Cosmic Rain’ keeps the energy levels high as sweeping melodies and punchy drums work in unison, while ‘First Contact’ moves towards more cinematic spheres as an ever-evolving synth line ebbs and flows to produce a warping and slightly off-kilter trip. To close, ‘Incantation’ brings a somewhat lighter and warmer dynamic to proceedings, with glossy synths balanced by harsher low-ends to round things out in style.
