The sixteenth edition of our Anjunabeats Volume series is out now – the perfect soundtrack for your journey to The Gorge, if you’re joining us there.
The Volume series turns 20 next year (how time flies!), and with each edition, we’ve loved highlighting the extraordinary amount of talent within our Anjunafamily. Volume 16 is no exception, featuring 33 exclusive tracks from 40+ artists, including old friends and new talent alike.
On to some of the highlights. Disc one leans heavily on some of the newer faces on the label: Jordin Post, ANUQRAM, Damate, Laura van Dam, Deeparture and Avenue One all feature. Jonas von der Fehr, aka Fehrplay, has been on fine form lately, and his take on ‘You Got To Go’ (with Zoë Johnston) is sublime. Fred Falke was a name we never expected to appear on an Anjuna sleeve, but we are thrilled to see it – he’s woven his French house magic on Mat Zo and OLAN’s ‘Colours’. Jono’s also found time to respray our 2021 single ‘Screwdriver’ in a UK summer house guise.
A memorable moment in our Cercle set (a day we will never forget), Paavo’s P.O.S alias is back on the menu with the aptly-named ‘Thunder & Sunshine’. Jono’s new project with Darren Tate, JODA, closes out disc one, remixed by our good friend and trusty studio engineer PROFF.
Disc two arrives straight at the dance floor from the get-go, with the anamē boys remixing Conjure One and Sinead O’Connor’s classic ‘Tears From The Moon’. Few records in the Anjuna catalogue hit as hard as Genix’s latest stomper ‘Ba55 I5land’. ilan Bluestone and BT’s superlative collaboration ‘Run’ begins an exciting new chapter for the man in blue, and Oliver Smith graces us with the effortlessly catchy ‘Make Me Feel’. Andrew Bayer is back with two albums of forward-thinking dance music later this year, and ‘On Tape’ is a scintillating reminder of his artistic brilliance.
Two new original records from us also feature on disc two, both debuted at ABGT450 – ‘Chains’ and ‘Projection’ have been tightened and tweaked on the road over the past few months. We close with a moment of gratitude, best enjoyed in full voice on the dance floor, surrounded by like-minded souls. A big thank you to Oli Smith for a terrific remix of ‘Gratitude’.
