“Vortex” doesn’t hesitate. The intro hurls back to old-school rave chaos with squelching leads and frenetic breakbeats, setting the stage for an onslaught of sloshing slams, screaming stabs, and apocalyptic choral pads. Each section escalates the energy with devilish precision, channeling Antima’s nearly decade-long evolution into a singular force in heavy bass. Describing the overall mood of his new single, Antima says, “First, I wrote the intro, which is a high-energy old-school type of intro. I love the old-school rave feelings it has. The drop is basically something I wanted to try: Simple flow, heavy guns and a ton of tonal delay.”
Already wreaking havoc in SLANDER’s live sets at EDC Las Vegas and Starbase, “Vortex” has been vetted for dancefloor destruction.
