Antima Adds Old-School Dubstep Flair to Brutish Deathstep Single “Vortex” on Gud Vibrations

Italy’s seasoned dubstep producer returns to NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s label with his follow-up single, a brutish deathstep cut loaded with an old-school feel.

Italian producer Antima barrels back onto Gud Vibrations with his second single “Vortex,” a merciless slice of dubstep that drags listeners straight into its turbulent core. Out on August 8, the track sees Antima deepen his legacy with the label helmed by NGHTMRE and SLANDER, continuing his mission to unleash the most brutal, bloodthirsty forms of tearout and deathstep.

“Vortex” doesn’t hesitate. The intro hurls back to old-school rave chaos with squelching leads and frenetic breakbeats, setting the stage for an onslaught of sloshing slams, screaming stabs, and apocalyptic choral pads. Each section escalates the energy with devilish precision, channeling Antima’s nearly decade-long evolution into a singular force in heavy bass. With just enough tonal delay and low-end artillery to rattle teeth, the drop strikes like a subterranean storm.

Describing the overall mood of his new single, Antima says, “First, I wrote the intro, which is a high-energy old-school type of intro. I love the old-school rave feelings it has. The drop is basically something I wanted to try: Simple flow, heavy guns and a ton of tonal delay.”

Already wreaking havoc in SLANDER’s live sets at EDC Las Vegas and Starbase, “Vortex” has been vetted for dancefloor destruction. It follows Antima’s punishing debut “Bleeding Eyes” on the label, a track that earned spins from Black Tiger Sex Machine and Kai Wachi during their ‘Skull Machine’ B2B sets across Lost Lands, EDC Orlando, and Forbidden Kingdom. The release also landed coverage across tastemaker platforms including Vents Magazine, Frontview Magazine, and Find Your Sounds, while nabbing a spot on Spotify’s ‘Dubstep Don’ editorial playlist.

Antima’s reach runs deep: with past releases on Disciple and ongoing support from genre titans like Kai Wachi, Oddprophet, and SLANDER, he’s carved a reputation as a master of sonic carnage. “Vortex” solidifies his role as one of Europe’s fiercest underground exports, ready to detonate global stages once again with his latest sonic weapon.

Antima’s new single “Vortex” is available everywhere via Gud Vibrations.
