Mercurio has spent a quarter of a century shaping the more melodic end of the house and techno spectrum. He is a DJ, live act, and experienced musician who plays guitar and has landed on many of the most influential labels from The Soundgarden to Watergate. Along the way, he has collaborated frequently with countryman Hernán Cattáneo, including back in 2025 on this label with the 2009 EP.
He kicks off this stellar EP with the fantastically emotive ‘Songstar’, a collaborative track with label head and dance music legend Sasha. It’s a driving cut laced with synth ripples and cosmic spirit, as aching vocals melt into the uplifting groove and cocoon you in a warm, endless rush. The brilliant ‘Sunday 960’ slows the tempo and sinks into an embracing groove. The celestial synth glow and tender atmosphere is reassuring and empowering. Closing cut ‘Polymode’ has a darker undercurrent with brooding bass that consumes you from below while flickering melodies and smeared vocals awaken your every sense.
